Know ye that the Lord he is God...enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalm 100:3-4

December Rainbow?

12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. Genesis 9:12-16

Yes, this was December 28, 2011 (2 months ago). I ran out to get some pictures of the sunset and this is what I got.

Then my sister came out and said that there was a rainbow in the eastern sky. I got a few pictures as it quickly faded away.

I returned for some last pictures of the sunset.

Thursday's Sunset

I liked watching the sunset progress and with the clouds I thought that it looked like it would make for nice pictures. Even though I was busy helping with supper I would run in and out capturing what I thought would look good, well here is what I got; I hope you enjoy them. As you may notice I captured these pictures in three runs I took out and am glad I couldn't stay long to watch because it was really cold.

Oh, I know I love trains; that's what makes this picture complete. :-)

Some Favorite Winter Pictures

This is one that I have always liked even though it was taken almost 3 years ago.

A muskrat house.

This was taken on Christmas day just last year. I love the railroad tracks in it.

This picture was taken the same day. The sunset was beautiful and we enjoyed it, our camera couldn't really get the perfect lighting but I liked this one. In this photo you are looking pretty much straight south. The whole sky was lit up.

Well, by now you may notice that every other photo is a lot the same kind of light, but I just like those kind of sunsets, they are pretty to me; And I get less red spots in my pictures because the the light is a little dimmer yet you can still get a picture of the sun. Try it sometime and see how it works for you, I would be glad to hear from someone about it.

Last Year's Snow...

As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters. Proverbs 25:1

See the road grader heading north?...

He was in front of our place when he must have seen the enormous drift of snow across the driveway. He must have felt sorry for us and decided to push it out, well...he kinda got stuck there, that big machine could really squarm and roar...NO way our tractor could pull him out. He evenually got himself backed out and tried again only to get stuck again but not quite as bad. But he got the job done. The county really did clean a LOT of roads that winter. The above picture is of our driveway after he got done. Thank you sir, that would have taken us a long time with our tractor.

This is a drift pushed up along the road in front of the house. It was over head high.

This is on top of the 6 to 7 foot high wind break and yes the snow was that deep.

These last two pictures are of some time ago. Since it is still cold around here I thought I'd post these pics, it's definitely not that bad this year.

Taken in February of 2010

I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will
remember thy wonders of old.
I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy
doings. Psalm 77:11-12

Whiter Than Snow

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Psalm 51:7

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as
scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson,
they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18

To God be the Glory great things he hath done!

Does God Love Children?

I believe he does, who he has foreordained unto salvation; and as I read the headlines in the BIMI website I read and reread it and wondered if this was for me - DID GOD PUT A BURDEN ON YOUR HEART TO HELP ORPHANED CHILDREN? - and over the last few years it seems to becoming more of a burden on my heart. Oh, may we all be willing servants to our Lord in ever area of our life and Lord help us to surrender to the mission field whether it's in our own borders or around the globe, and not just to children but to EVERYBODY.
I love these words of Jesus that he speak not only to his disciples to every believer in Christ.

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach
the gospel to every creature.
Mark 15:16

Another great verse is II Peter 3:9

The Lord is...not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.

I know I have no pics with this post just a simple yet provoking thought for you all.

From Foggy & Frosty to Sunny & Clear

It was Friday morning when we woke up to the fog covered prairie where I call home. It was fun to have a change and we all took the chance to shoot photos, and as the fog began to stick to everything it only seemed to get prettier. Literally we took over a hundred pictures. Saturday came and it was still foggy, then by last night it cleared off and I was glad to be able to see the landscape around me at last with a clear bright moon above.
When it's foggy and everything looks gray and you can only see up to a fourth of a mile away it makes me think that that is the way our life is, we can't see what is ahead, only God knows and we must trust him to lead us through to a brighter day up ahead like the song says.

It may seem like a month or two
Since you've looked up into a sky of blue
Doubts may try to settle in your soul
Even now, friend, God is in control
Just have faith the sun will shine again
The dark clouds will vanish and the rain will end
There's a brighter day 'round the bend
Just have faith the sun will shine again
-Jim Brady

Yeah, I know this tree seems to get a lot of pictures, but it's the highlight of the farm when it comes to taking these kind of pictures. I think it is one of tallest trees on the farm.

There is field behind this, but it is invisible because of the fog.
I just love this next picture, it's the same grass :-)

The sun did shine again, it rose this morning as usual and while it was still cold enough so that the frost stayed on everything we got the rest of these pictures. They turned out
quite nice, I thought.

By the way; all these photo haven't been cropped, I left the same lighting
as they were taken.
