Know ye that the Lord he is God...enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalm 100:3-4

Dakota Prairie

I was looking through some older pictures and found this that looked interesting. Since I hadn't posted them I thought I might as well. It was October 7, 2011. At 2 o'clock as usual we took the goats out, but they couldn't even eat because it was so windy, so we had to skip it. The wind was about the strongest around three or four in the afternoon which was up to 77 mph, so after chores everyone headed in but I decided to stay out and enjoy it because...well, I have always liked the wind. But I didn't stay long either, because even I was getting my eyes filled with dirt.

Auh...makes me homesick. I love the Dakota prairies!!

It was a south wind, so it blew the north wall out and broke off the middle post in the lean-to, as you can see...

...so to keep it from taking the rest of the shed our only resort was to use the pickup, since it was one of the strongest things we had and yet didn't mind a few scratches.

The horses weathered through and you can about imagine...everything was dusty. Quite a few of the house's shingles went, which had to be patched. We had to make do a patch by that night with plywood since it rained during the night, but we got it patched the next day, thankfully since it rained the following day again. Dust managed to make it in the house so everything was well coated :-) Wonderful Memories!!
